Civil Polis - En Man Utan Referenser

Facts I never wanted to succeed, but not even that have I managed to do.

They say CIVIL POLIS is Sweden's biggest band. Well, above all, the upcoming full-length album En man utan referenser is the biggest Swedish debut album since The Tough Alliance's The New School.

In a country where pop music has been dismantled as a meaningful project, the word stance doesn't mean much. But for what it's worth:

Our mission is to make art accessible.
Our desire is to exploit the Swedish underground.

The task, in short, is to release POP.

Yes, in capital letters.

But the buffet doesn't need any more food. It's still impossible to make art for the majority who know the price of everything but the value of nothing.

En man utan referenser is therefore released only in physical formats, as LP and CD, and for digital single-track sales. There are also rumors that CIVIL POLIS has built a streaming service where the band gets... 100 percent of the revenue.

En man utan referenser moves between The Strokes' Room on Fire and Spiritualized's Ladies and Gentlemen, We Are Floating in Space. It channels Kris Kristofferson, Centrumhets, and Khonnor's home-built dreams. Somewhere inside, the dream of the lost folkhem also lives on.

But mostly, En man utan referenser is proof that the best hasn't happened yet. We proudly send out the first single Blåst av vinden, together with the album track Våren, out into the world.
