David Ritschard - Innan Tystnaden Tar Vid

Facts During the summer tour together with Lars Winnerbäck, a significant part of David Ritschard's set consisted of Björn Afzelius covers. These songs may not be the iconic artist's best known, but they are among his most explicitly political appeals for humanity, justice and peace. They are now released on an EP titled “Innan tystanden tar vid”. The title is taken from a line in “Innan bomberna faller”, which, like the rest of the songs, feels frighteningly relevant to our own time.

The music was recorded at the Ingrid studio in Stockholm, capturing the energy and passion that David and his band show on stage. “Tankar i Ligurien” and “Valet” are both duets, with Thorsten Flinck and Stella Explorer respectively. On the aforementioned “Innan bomberna faller”, Mira Ray takes the vocals. This is a collection of songs that looks not backward in time but outward into the world. It showcases an artist who combines empathy and engagement with an almost unique ability to make the material personal and his own.
