Ella Fitzgerald - Live At Falkoner Theatre

Facts This previously unreleased gem is remarkably relaxed and free from the pressure that often comes with a studio session or a planned live recording; it radiates genuine magic, sparkling energy, and an intensity that never fades. The evening before Ella Fitzgerald took the stage at Stockholm Concert Hall to record what would become The Stockholm Concert, 1966, the live album from Pablo Records now regarded as one of the most important documents of her later career, she gave two concerts at Falkoner Teatret in Copenhagen. Like many African American jazz musicians of her generation, Ella felt at home in Denmark. It was a country where she met a respect she was too often denied in the United States. You could clearly sense how content Ella felt in her second home when she took the stage at Falkoner Teatret that Sunday evening. Now available
