Hermitude - Threads (CD)

Facts Light years away from their instrumental Hip Hop origins, Hermitude blaze a trail into darker and more complex territory where drums and melody rule the Earth. From the thrilling pursuit of the computer game-esque "Cartridge Kings" to the beautifully somber "Frayed", they've simultaneously increased the live instrumentation whilst short circuiting it with bass-heavy electronics. Hermitude's arrangements never remain stagnant; they mature with each minute: counter melodies enriching compositions layer upon layer. Witness the wall of orchestration toward the finale of "The River" as a dramatic juxtaposition to it's understated beginning. Elefant Tracks. 2008.
