J Street Jumpers - Good For Stompin'

Facts Combining the swing of Count Basie, the beat of Buddy Johnson and the New Orleans lilt of Fats Domino, The J Street Jumpers are one of the East Coast's most popular swing bands, creating a zany sound that is a reverent, authentic restoration of the classic swing and jump-blues of the '30s - '50s. They are two-time winners of the Washington Area Music Assoc. (WAMA) Wammie Awards for Best Big Band - Swing Duo/Group, Best Big Band - Swing Recording and Best Jazz, and they have had performances at the White House and the Kennedy Center. "What you have here is danceable swing, with lustful lyrics and great solos performed by a tight-knit group of nine musicians who are out to have a good time." - Jazz Times.
