Katatonia - Viva Emptiness

Facts Reissue. Katatonia was formed in 1991 by Anders Nyström and Jonas Renkse, and broke through with the debut album Dance of December Souls (1993), known for its distinctive blend of gothic doom and death metal. The band has since developed into a cornerstone of progressive metal. Viva Emptiness, their sixth studio album, was released in 2003 and recorded at Soundtrade Studios in Stockholm. The album refined Katatonia's melancholic and melodic darkness and is considered one of their strongest works, even stronger than the acclaimed Last Fair Deal Gone Down. This edition includes the original 2003 mix and the original cover artwork by Travis Smith.
