Meierkord / Andersson - Passager (Ruby Red Vinyl LP)

Facts Cellist Henrik Meierkord and artist Pelle Andersson have previously released music under their own names, and have also performed as musicians for artists including Ossler, Thåström and Kjellvander. In 2024 they came together to make something together. The foundation of this newfound musical project, however, grew out of a deeply painful period in life: Pelle Andersson's wife's incurable cancer. The project was named "Passager," where piano, synths and cello create a soundscape marked by reflection and sorrow, yet where light is allowed to break through in between. This resulted in the album "Passager," now released on limited ruby red vinyl.

"The new album is a kind of navigation between different emotional ranges. Passages between hope and warmth, despair and panic. Where light meets darkness, the beautiful meets the flawed," say Pelle and Henrik.

The recording was shaped throughout by the illness that was affecting Andersson's wife at the time. When the album was completed, she passed away tragically, and "Passager" is dedicated to her.
