Lofgren Nils - Hanging Tough (1977 Radio Broadcast

Facts Limited live release from the guitarist, singer, songwriter and globe-trotting sideman for Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young. The performance here was recorded at a prestigious club date at New York's 400-seater Bottom Line, in the winter of 1977, following the release of Nils third solo album, I Came to Dance. That album is represented by it's title track and the set's magnum opus, 'Code of the Road.' Tom Lofgren, Nils brother plays second guitar and sings backing vocals - he was a mainstay of the touring band and his musical involvement dated back to the final brace of Grin albums in 1973. Bassist Wornell Jones was another regular in the Lofgren camp during the mid 1970 s, playing on three studio albums. Drummer David Platshon has worked sporadically with Nils across the years, and also recorded with John Stewart and Dolly Parton. Finally, keyboard player Patrick Henderson is well known for his association with the Doobie Brothers, but has also played with a vast diversity of artists including Leon Russell, Michael Bolton and Freddie King.
