Peter Sommer & Rich Perry - Crossroads

Facts Peter Sommer's second album as a leader, Crossroads features a two-tenor front-line with New York saxophonist Rich Perry who is probably best known for his work in Maria Schnieder's band. Sommer has contributed his muscular tenor playing and creative spirit to a variety of musical projects by Chie Imaizumi and the Ken Walker Sextet, and to his duo outing with pianist Art Lande. Rich Perry is one of those rare tenor saxophonists who is a complete musician with an understanding of space and timing and a palpable sense of color and humor. The tenors weave their way through classic jazz standards as well as 2 of Sommer's original compositions.
