Sjuk Hus - Sjukt Hus

Facts SJUK HUS is the result of a meeting in the emergency room between a well-known comedian (Marcus Berggren), who no longer wanted to be a well-known comedian, and a secret producer and guitarist (Oscar Ulfheden), who bonded over the grief of not having a band. Beyond Marcus and Oscar's meeting in the emergency room, the band is a loosely assembled crew that has come together in more or less unexpected ways. The debut album "Sjukt Hus" was recorded and finished in an efficient week in the studio shortly after the band formed, and is released digitally on February 28 and on yellow vinyl on February 7, 2025, via Septembernatt. The vinyl edition includes a printed inner sleeve drawn by Marcus Berggren.

The album includes, among other things, a self-help song about giving up and not giving up, karate-spark riffs, and a handful of distorted bassoon tracks. The debut single "Livs levande lik" was released in September and drew attention from New Music Friday Sweden and the music editor of P3 and P4, around the same time SJUK HUS played a widely celebrated show at Pustervik in Gothenburg. Other singles from the album have been noticed by Dagens Nyheter and rotated on Swedish student radio stations.

Besides Marcus Berggren (vocals/guitar) and Oscar Ulfheden (guitar), SJUK HUS consists of Sofia Kristensen (bass/vocals), Natan Metell (bassoon), and Tim Olsson (drums).
