Skrjabin Alexander - Compl. Piano Sonatas

Facts Vladimir Sofronitzki's performances of Alexander Scriabin are praised for their idiomatic rubato, together with a flair for musical architecture and rhythmic precision. In his desire for fidelity to the original, Sofronitzki's highly sensitive use of pedal reflects his striving to abide by the composer's expressive markings as closely as possible. This 2 CD set of mid-20th c. readings of the Scriabin piano sonatas by this famed Soviet pianist is made complete by two inserted recordings of fellow Russian keyboard titans, Heinrich Neuhaus (Sonata No.1) and Sviatoslav Richter (Sonata No.7).
