Stiko Per Larsson - 9 (Digipak CD)

Facts Snowstorms over the Dalarna forests. Wind on the coast of Denmark. Coffee cups at gas stations. The sun warming Tennessee. Summer evenings in November. The tunnels through Norway. Stopping at the Dala horse. Kids who have grown taller than their parents. The first note and the final encore.

The same dreams. New attempts.

An audience of five. One of five hundred. Forgotten bags and speaker Tetris in a parking lot outside Folkets Hus. Coffee with expectations. Village halls and theaters. The platforms. Dragging bags toward the train. New hotels and old hotels. One song that refuses to be finished, another that writes itself. The bridge over the Great Belt. Americans in awe. Janne delivering. The laughter and the tears. The applause and the conversations afterward.

I've been doing this for a long time now, but every day still feels like the first.

Over the past few years, these songs have taken shape. They were written between concerts, family life and travel. In the few moments when the world fell quiet. They are about the people I've met, the places I've passed through and the time we live in. About doubt and hope. About going away to come home. About trying to understand the world without ceasing to believe in the people in it.

"9" is my ninth album, thank you for listening.
