Strawberry Guy - Give Me A Dream

Facts Strawberry Guy (Alex Stephens) comes to AWAL with a brand new 14-track double LP; 'Give Me A Dream'. From humble beginnings growing up in the Welsh countryside, to cutting his teeth playing keys in Liverpool-based indie bands (The Orielles, Trudy & The Romance), Strawberry Guy took flight in 2019 with the viral success of Mrs. Magic. A track that has now accumulated over 840M Spotify streams, yet makes up only half the 1.6B all time Spotify streams. Alex comes to us with his third body of work (after the 2019 EP 'Taking My Time To Be' and the 2021 debut album 'Sun Outside My Window' Give Me A Dream is a fantastic, cinematic record where the sensibilities of Brian Wilson meet the indie charm of Mac DeMarco, resulting in a beautifully orchestrated sound heavily influenced by classical music and film scores. The album themes are deeply rooted in healing, the journey of overcoming darkness, nostalgia, self-discovery and optimism for the future.
