Valter Nilsson - Högsbo Riviera

Facts Valter Nilsson is the artist who, within just a few months, went from club gigs to selling out 12,000 tickets to his summer show at Bananpiren in a flash. Now it's confirmed that the much-anticipated album "Högsbo Riviera" from the Gothenburg phenomenon arrives on March 27. On it, he refines his soul-rock'n'roll, filled with everyday stories and social pathos.
With growing crowds across the country, a standout performance at Musikhjälpen last winter, and a win at the Nöjesguiden Göteborg Award, it's increasingly clear the last word hasn't been said about Valter Nilsson. That impression is reinforced by the new album "Högsbo Riviera," on which he and longtime collaborator Johan Weber refine their craft and expand the sound with prominent horns and strings. Overall, it's the rare kind of record that feels both confident and humble, triumphant yet a little painful.
