Vera Vinter - Från Mitt Berg (CD & Zine)

Facts Mountains are everywhere. Towering, out of reach, inspiring and imagined. On the horizon. At the edge of the places of childhood. And inside us, as memories, dreams, fear and resilience.

From My Mountain, Vera Vinter's new album, is written in the meeting between these worlds. Nine songs where everyday life cracks open and reveals something bigger. A coffee cup steaming in the sun. A bicycle struggling up the hill. A heart racing when the wind catches it. And the mountains that follow us into the night, out to the bar, where freedom and escape collide with what we can never quite leave behind.

The music is stripped down. Voice and guitar at the center. Surrounded by violin, cello, kantele, percussion and choirs. Simplicity carries the strength. Just as a snail carries the sea in its shell, a few chords can open up entire worlds.

Vera Vinter comes from Stora Lappträsk, outside Kalix. Her songs pulse with the people and landscapes of Norrbotten. Here indie pop and folk music meet, with traces of the melodies, dialects and languages that still live in the north. After five albums and collaborations with Bo Kaspers Orkester, Johannes Berglund, Hanna Ekström and Staffan Hellstrand, her voice emerges as something entirely her own, rooted in her home region yet looking far beyond it.

From My Mountain is an album about staying, remembering and meeting your origins. But also about stepping out into the unknown. And the mountains always remain.

The physical album From My Mountain comes as a CD in a natural white paper sleeve, with an 8-page stapled zine containing Vera Vinter's lyrics and illustrations by comic artist Knut Larsson. Printed with a risograph printer at RisooPrint, Färglabbet in Sunne. Hand-packed with a wool band wrapped around it by Vera.
