Zhengtao Pan - Mirror, Floating on the Water (CD, Digipack)

Facts On Mirror, Floating On The Water, composer and arranger Zhengtao Pan delivers a powerful and poetic statement blending jazz, classical, and cinematic influences into a deeply personal listening experience. Known for his emotionally rich writing and inventive orchestration, Pan draws from his life's most intimate moments-including a childhood memory of snowfall in Shanghai-to create music that is sparse, lyrical, and full of quiet depth.Following his award-winning debut Scenery In My Story, this sophomore release features striking chamber-jazz textures led by string quartet and jazz rhythm section, unfolding in a sound world influenced by Ryuichi Sakamoto and Maurice Ravel. The melodies shine at the core of each piece, supported by fluid tempo shifts and evocative harmonies. Whether capturing the sweetness within solitude or challenging the boundaries between jazz and classical genres, Pan's music invites listeners into a world of reflection and quiet power.
